ABOUT THIS COURSE:

GPRO Operations & Maintenance Essentials (O&M) provides building professionals with strategies to reduce energy use while improving tenant comfort and health. Participants leave with at least three immediately actionable measures and the next steps needed to achieve them.

This three-day online course is ideal for property managers and building staff in both residential and high-rise commercial buildings, including: building superintendents, operators, facility and property managers, operating engineers and stationary engineers.


COURSE SCHEDULE:
This class session will be held virtually over zoom.

Day 1: Tuesday, January 25, 9:00am - 1:00pm

Day 2: Wednesday, January 26, 9:00am - 1:00pm

Day 3: Thursday, January 27, 9:00am - 1:00pm



WHAT STUDENTS LEARN:

  • Take a systemic approach to operating and maintaining a building.

  • Evaluate building performance.

  • Identify at least three immediately actionable measures that will improve building health, energy or water efficiency of your building and the next steps needed to achieve them.

  • Explain the costs and benefits of those measures.

Registration also includesa course e-book and the online exam session. Students who pass the exam with an 80% or higher become a GPRO Certificate Holder.

-GBCI: Approved for 12 CE Credits

- AIA CES: Approved for 12 LU/HSW Hours

- PDH: 12 Credits

ABOUT GPRO: 

GPRO is a comprehensive national training and certificate program developed by Urban Green Council. The program teaches the principles of sustainability and trade-specific green construction knowledge to people who build, renovate and maintain buildings.

GPRO courses range from our foundational course, Fundamentals of Building Green, to technical trade-specific classes focused on filling the green-gap between energy efficiency and conventional building and construction knowledge. Working with unions, USGBC chapters, non-profits, workforce development groups and real estate companies throughout North America, we have trained over 16,000 building professionals to date.

  • Veterans;
  • Native Americans;

  • Low-income individuals, whose household’s total income is below or at 60% of the State Medium Income, or whose household has been determined eligible for or is receiving assistance through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or other human service benefit programs;
  • Incumbent or unemployed power plant workers;
  • Previously incarcerated individuals;
  • 16- to 24-year-olds who are enrolled in or have completed a comprehensive work preparedness training program such as those offered by Boards of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES), technical high schools, Conservation Corps, Youthbuild, and AmeriCorps. The training program must include a combination of rigorous clean energy education with hands-on technical training. Eligibility of work preparedness programs under this category will be considered on a case-by-case basis.;
  • Homeless individuals;
